Design evolution of Star3
1. The gold ingot is the high-value currency used in ancient China that represents wealth and fortune. Inspired by the shape of the gold ingot, the designer applied the appearance in the conception stage.
2. Here, the design conceptreflectsthatoftheMiji Gala iCook, a cookingappliance in cubic form thatperfectlyembodiesthe fundamental principlesof German design.
3. With the combination of new design elements and previous design features, the primary outline of Star3 emerged.
4. The sketch of Star3 was finalised with consideration of cooker production technique and mechanical features.
The iconic smooth shape undoubtedly makes the Miji Gala I Series a classic Miji table top stove. While cooking, the air stream passes through a cooling duct, resulting in the best cooking experience with zero noise. The exterioris made with aluminium alloys, while the interioruses advanced German components, with different bright colourstochoosefrom.
The Miji Gala I serieshasbeenreplicated, but itslegacyremains. The design was intended tobe timeless and made a great contribution to the popularity of Miji.
The first idea for the MijiDesign Q-series design came from a very special place. A traditional rural kitchen in Jiangsu province with an earthen stove made for a large wok and fired by wood was one source of inspiration. A look at the full shape of the Q-series can show that the designers innovated even more. With the slightlyupward-sloping shape of the front, spills of water or oil are prevented from running into the control zone. The housing is ideally shaped for easy cleaning of the cooker and the surrounding cooking space. So it is easy to move this powerful lightweight to any place in the home and enjoy a meal or a tea with friends and family outside the often small kitchen.
With the Q-series,the designers was actually able to combine these emotional qualities with an iconic, functional design that even resembles retro-chic from the early seventies in Europe.
With the new Cube Series, Mijiis extending its product initiative in the newly launched MijiDesign brand with exciting colours and a new design adaptation. Three different colours – strawberry pink, kiwi green and lemon are the key features of this product line. The ergonomic handles and the newly designed knob come in the same colour and give the Cube a unique exterior, while following the clear lines of all Miji design, which is based on the principles of the German design school Bauhaus.
‘Less is more,’ said Mies van der Rohe, a founding father of the Bauhaus school. The body of the Cube series takes the square as its basic design form and the height is adapted in perfect correlation with the geometrical golden section. Inside this minimalistic shape the latest German technology has been installed.
